Ships by Military Trainz Reskinned by Steve; latest reskins (October 2021) on page 2 here
These ships have all been created by Military Trainz and have had very minor reskins by me. In most cases I have only removed the flag, either the French tricolour or US stars-and-stripes. I have removed or changed ship and/or company names and/or funnel insignia for a few and also reduced the size of some of the textures. This is because I intend these reskins to be used in docks and harbours where, once tied up, vessels do not display their registered flag. I’ve removed some distinguishing names so that several copies can be used simultaneously. I have inserted a black bmp file of the same size as the flag texture and edited the relevant txt file to include it as the alpha layer. This blanks out the existing flag. To restore the flag delete the bmp file and remove the alpha entry in the txt file. In most cases this will display the UK Merchant Navy flag. All my reskins have been done with the creator’s permission. I have issued the reskin models under my own kuid: 169585. I have changed the username, each is preceded by ‘SFR’. The original names are retained in the config.txt description. I have used the unarmed versions of the models. They are all scenery items and ideal for populating docks, especially those alongside the Liverpool Overhead Railway, of course. Check out the Military Trainz website for the entire very extensive range of models made to recreate naval, air and ground actions of WWII, I thoroughly recommend a visit and a rummage! They are freeware and can be downloaded as zip or rar files. Brilliant!
